2008
Buijnink International was founded in 2008 on the beautiful southwest coast of Portugal. We have since grown into a family business with 350 permanent employees. As a supplier of all kinds of branches, we contribute to the foundation of various types of bouquets.
2017
We stand for sustainability in the broadest sense of the word. Since 2017, we have completely stopped using chemical agents (with the exception of a few flower species!). Apart from these flowers, our cultivation is fully organic. We also value sustainability in our collaborations. Long-term partnerships are very important to us, which is why we place great emphasis on quality and reliability.
2020
In 2020, we began producing eucalyptus oil. All eucalyptus that is not used for retail or wholesale was previously considered waste—now, it is used to produce eucalyptus oil. We differentiate between Eucalyptus Globulus oil and Eucalyptus Cinerea oil, also known as Silver Dollar. As a result, we generate almost no waste and operate in a highly sustainable way.
2022
Since 2022, we have been supplying florists in the Algarve and Spain. We are now expanding across Portugal, like the Lisbon region and the north. This allows us to receive valuable feedback on our greenery and flowers, and florists benefit from having the freshest blooms delivered directly from the grower.
2024
We have noticed that "Buijnink" remains a challenging name to pronounce—while it is easily recognized and spoken in the Netherlands, where our roots lie, it proves more difficult in Portugal and internationally. To support our growth and improve global recognition, we have introduced a new brand identity: The Euca Company. From now on, we will operate under this name.
2025
This year, we will launch The Euca Scents, a fragrance line featuring products such as candles and diffusers infused with our own eucalyptus oil.
